Top transfer round-up – January 15th: Hazard’s valuation and De Gea’s contract demands revealed

Here we run through the latest rumours and round-up the possible movers dominating today’s gossip columns.

Chelsea set asking price for Eden Hazard

Chelsea will demand £100m for Eden Hazard at the end of the season if the Belgian refuses to sign a new deal.

Hazard will only have 12 months left to run on his existing Chelsea deal in the summer and is stalling on signing a new contract despite the club's best attempts.

Real Madrid have been heavily linked with a move for the 28-year-old and are expected to firm up their interest again in the coming months.

Chelsea, however, will not roll over and let one of the best players in the Premier League go on the cheap.

Hazard is one of only two players in Europe’s top five leagues to register double figures for goals and assists this season (10 goals, 10 assists).

De Gea wants £300,000-a-week wages at United

David de Gea wants to stay at Manchester United but is demanding £300,000-a-week wages.

The Spain international’s current £200,000-a-week deal is due to expire at the end of next season after United triggered a 12-month extension earlier this year.

De Gea has been linked with summer moves to Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus but the 28-year-old’s preference is to prolong his stay at Old Trafford now Jose Mourinho has been sacked.

United are desperate to keep one of the world’s best goalkeepers and must make him one of the best-paid players in their history in order to secure his long-term future.

Only Cardiff goalkeeper Neil Etheridge (81) has made more saves than De Gea (80) in the Premier League this season.

Chelsea increase offer for Paredes

Chelsea have submitted an improved offer for Leandro Paredes but it is still short of Zenit’s valuation of the midfielder.

Maurizio Sarri need to sign a new midfielder this month after selling Cesc Fabregas to Monaco on Friday.

Paredes has emerged as Chelsea’s top target and the Blues are getting closer to Zenit’s £36m valuation.

A £26.8m bid was turned down at the start of the week and Chelsea have since returned with an offer of £31.2m.

Only one player averages more long balls per game in the Russian Premier League than Paredes this season (7.6).

Real Madrid firm up interest in Genoa striker Piatek

Real Madrid have made contact with Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek.

The Spanish giants have endured a miserable season and are now planning a mass squad overhaul.

Piatek has been a revelation in Serie A this season and is also being heavily linked with a move to AC Milan this month.

However, it has now emerged that Madrid are stepping up their pursuit of the 23-year-old.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo (14) has scored more goals than Piatek (13) in Serie A this season.

Everton will only consider crazy money for Gueye

Everton will only sell star midfielder Idrissa Gueye to Paris Saint-Germain this month if the French club bid in the region of £40m.

Gueye has emerged as a transfer target for PSG, as Thomas Tuchel desperately scrambles for a new midfielder.

With Adrien Rabiot frozen out and Lass Diarra reportedly set to retire, Tuchel could well be short of midfield options for the remainder of the campaign.

Everton do not want to lose Gueye but will not be able to turn down a monster £40m bid for the 29-year-old.

Since the beginning of last season, no player has won more tackles and interceptions combined than Gueye in the Premier League (299).

Arnautovic closing in on shock move to China

West Ham are poised to sell Marko Arnautovic to Shanghai SIPG in a shock deal worth £35m.

Shanghai SIPG, who already have Brazilian duo Hulk and Oscar, have been revealed as the unnamed Chinese Super League side pursuing Arnautovic’s signature.

The 29-year-old’s head has reportedly been turned by the lucrative riches available in China and now a deal looks likely to be completed before the end of the month, with West Ham already drafting a list of potential replacements.

Arnautovic was a club-record signing when he joined from Stoke in the summer of 2017 and has scored at least six more league goals than any other team-mate during that period (18).
