Fanteam Fantasy Football: Premier League sides to rotate for FA Cup action
The Premier League takes a break this weekend but the fun doesn't stop on Fanteam Fantasy Football. It's the FA Cup fourth round this weekend and there is money to be made on the platform. The FA Cup main event has a guaranteed prize pool of €7,500 at an entry price of just €20. You can also compete for a guaranteed prize pool of €1,500 at an entry price of just €2.
Before we get going with our selections for the FA Cup fourth round, we want to bring to your attention the Spring Championship of Fantasy Football coming up on Fanteam (SCOFF). Much like the World Championship of Online Fantasy Football (WCOFF) that ran at the end of December, there is HUGE jackpot at stake here. The SCOFF has a guaranteed prize pool of €500,000 and first place will take home €150,000.
When does the SCOFF take place? There are 1000 places up for grabs for the contest that runs over the final two gameweeks of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign. You will pick a completely new team in each gameweek and there are payouts to everyone down to 90th. You can either pay the straight entry fee or get involved through qualifying contests, which are significantly cheaper. Keep your eyes peeled for more on Fanteam!
Now, here is our XI for this weekend's select FA Cup fourth round ties, with additional information about three of our picks.
Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal) - 10.3M
There hasn't been much to be optimistic about at Arsenal in recent years but in Gabriel Martinelli the Gunners appear to have unearthed a gem. The 18-year-old should now be breathing down the neck of Alexandre Lacazette for a regular starting berth after coming off the bench to help salvage a draw at Chelsea in midweek. The Brazilian teenager has already reached 10 goals in all competitions this season and is expected to start when Mikel Arteta's side travel to Bournemouth on Monday night. The FA Cup is the only competition Martinelli has yet to score in for Arsenal, though he only came off the bench for 23 minutes in their third round tie.
Giovani Lo Celso (Tottenham) - 9.0M
Jose Mourinho has confirmed he will rest some of his regulars for their fourth round clash with Southampton this weekend and that should provide Giovani Lo Celso the chance to get more minutes under his belt. The Real Betis loanee has started to show Tottenham fans his best form in recent weeks. He has recorded successive ratings above 7.00 for the first time this season heading into Saturday's game with Southampton. He will also carry the confidence of scoring in their FA Cup third round replay with Middlesbrough into this match.
Harvey Elliott (Liverpool) - 11.8M
Jurgen Klopp will hand Liverpool's youngsters another chance to impress when the Premier League leaders face Shrewsbury in the next round of the FA Cup and all eyes will be on Harvey Elliott once more. The 16-year-old hasn't featured for Liverpool since putting Merseyside rivals Everton into a trance in the third round of the competition. Elliott is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in English football and he has not looked overawed playing for Liverpool when given first-team opportunities.
