Here we round up the weekend’s action in Europe’s top five leagues and reveal the best rated XI of players aged 21 and under, with additional information about their Football INDEX share prices.

Signed on loan from Serie A rivals Fiorentina in January, Bartlomiej Dragowski enjoyed a dream debut for Empoli on Sunday. The 21-year-old kept a clean sheet in Empoli’s 3-0 win over Sassuolo, as Giuseppe Iachini’s side eased their relegation fears. Dragowski made two saves and successfully claimed one cross, while also winning two aerial duels.

Left-back Faitout Maouassa provided his first assist of the season in the victory and also created another goalscoring opportunity. Ibrahima Konate is developing into a mainstay in the U21 weekly XIs. The RB Leipzig defender helped his side to a 3-1 win away to Stuttgart on Saturday. Konate has demonstrated in recent weeks that he is capable of carrying the ball out from the back and that was again apparent at the weekend, where he completed two dribbles. The 19-year-old made five tackles and interceptions combined and seven clearances.

 

Right-back: Alex Sola (Real Sociedad) – 8.03 rating

Teenage right-back Alex Sola enjoyed a dream debut for Real Sociedad in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Leganes. The 19-year-old registered more touches than any other player on display (101) and was a real threat in the attacking third. Sola completed four dribbles, had two shots, registered one key pass and was fouled twice. Not only that, but he made more tackles than any other Sociedad player (four).

 

 

Centre midfield: Tyler Adams (RB Leipzig) – 7.90 rating

Tyler Adams has made the transition from MLS to Bundesliga football with consummate ease since completing a move to RB Leipzig in January. The 20-year-old made twice as many tackles as any other Leipzig player (four) against Stuttgart, while also ranking top for dribbles completed (four).

Maxime Lopez played an important part in Marseille’s 2-0 win at home to Amiens on Saturday, providing the assist for their opener after 19 minutes. The 21-year-old attempted the most passes (85) and impressively completed 95.3% of them. The French midfielder also created two more goalscoring chances, completed two dribbles and made five tackles.

 

Centre midfield: Kai Havertz (Bayer Leverkusen) – 8.15 rating

The 19-year-old also picked up his first WhoScored Man of the Match award in the league this season. Leverkusen managed 84% possession against Duesseldorf, with Havertz registered over 100 touches and 92 attempted passes. He also won three aerial duels, had two shots and completed one dribble and one key pass.

Real Sociedad are now unbeaten in their last seven league matches after Mikel Oyarzabal helped inspire Imanol Alguacil’s side to a 3-0 win over Leganes. He netted twice from three shots, while also completing two dribbles and registering one key pass.
