Still undecided what footballers to add to your portfolio? Football INDEX even provides users with a handy tool to help you make informed decisions on trending players, locked at the top right hand side of the home page. Share prices tend to fluctuate, but they aren’t just determined by player performance. Share prices can also increase based on the media attention a player receives on any given day of trading.

Everyday, Football INDEX highlights the five biggest market moves over a 24-hour period. Here are the current five:

1. IGNATIUS GANAGO (NICE)

It’s been a strange season for Nice. The French side have struggled for consistency, winning 12 and losing 12 of their 30 league matches so far this season.

Despite languishing down in eighth, Nice head coach Lucien Favre has incredibly been linked with the Bayern Munich hot seat for next season and now one of their players is causing quite the stir.

Teenage striker Ignatius Ganago’s is the biggest market mover in the last 24 hours of trading on Football INDEX following a 31.39% share price increase.

The 19-year-old has only made eight appearances in all competitions this season and hasn’t featured for Favre’s side in nearly two months.

He scored on his debut against Monaco in September but has failed to hit the back of the net since and has only managed three shots in the subsequent seven appearances.

While a remarkable rise on Football INDEX, he is certainly one to swerve if you are looking to add to your portfolio.

2. SAMUEL BASTIEN (CHIEVO)

The second relatively unknown quantity to feature in the five biggest market movers on Football INDEX today is Chievo midfielder Samuel Bastien. The 21-year-old’s share price has increased 26.33% in the last 24 hours and he is now trading at £0.51 a share.

Bastien has at least been more involved for his team than Ganago, making 16 appearances in Serie A this season. The Belgium Under-21 international was linked with a move to Swansea at the start of the year and has since been identified as a transfer target for Galatasaray.

The Turkish giants failed to replace Badou Ndiaye at the start of the year and have earmarked Bastien as a potential long-term replacement for the now Stoke midfielder.

However, Bastien has failed to make any real impact in the Chievo starting XI this season. He is their lowest WhoScored rated player (10+ apps) in Serie A this season (6.27) and is unlikely to yield a great return on Football INDEX.

3. JAVIER PASTORE

Javier Pastore was heavily linked with a move to Inter last season and the Serie A giants wanted him so badly that they had already prepared the No.10 jersey for the Argentina international.

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder has struggled with recurring injuries in recent years and admitted earlier this week that he is coming to the end of his career with the Ligue 1 giants.

Pastore’s current PSG deal is due to expire at the end of next season but he is expected to leave in the summer as Unai Emery’s side need to balance their books.

Of the 18 league appearances Pastore has made this season, only half of those have come in the way of starts. Despite playing a bit-part role in PSG’s campaign, he still averages a goal or an assist every 148.2 minutes of action.

His Football INDEX share price has increased 18.54% in the last 24 hours and he is now trading at £1.34 a future. That is still relatively cheap for a player of his talent and he could prove a good addition to your Football INDEX portfolios ahead of the summer.

4. KYLE WALKER-PETERS (TOTTENHAM)

After an impressive showing for the England Under-21s on Saturday, Kyle Walker-Peters has made quite the impression on Football INDEX traders.

The Tottenham defender played an integral role in England’s 2-1 win over Romania and is expected to start again when Aidy Boothroyd’s side take on Ukraine’s Under-21s on Tuesday night.

While there are no matchday dividends available for Tuesday’s internationals, many are hoping that another impressive showing for England could force his way into the reckoning at Tottenham for the remainder of the season.

The 20-year-old has only made eight appearances in all competitions so far this season, so the chances of that happening at the business end of the campaign appear slim.

His Football INDEX share price has increased to £0.58 a future and would only be worth considering if you are prepared to hold onto him into the next campaign.

5. LEWIS COOK (BOURNEMOUTH)

Lewis Cook will hope to cap off an impressive season for Bournemouth with his first senior international appearance for England when Gareth Southgate’s men host Italy at Wembley on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old has forced Harry Arter out of the team for Bournemouth and has now been tipped to start against the Azzurri as Southgate plots changes to the side that beat the Netherlands 1-0 on Friday night.

However, there are no matchday dividends available for Tuesday’s internationals and you would simply be adding shares of Cook to your portfolio with both eyes on the future.

The Bournemouth midfielder has been linked with a move to Liverpool already this season and you can expect more media attention for the young midfielder throughout the summer.

His Football INDEX share price is now £1.24 but Cook is not someone I would consider for my portfolio. A move away from Bournemouth seems premature this summer.
