Route to the Semi-final
Coventry have been rampant in their run to the FA Cup semi-finals. Indeed, they made light work of Oxford in their first game, though were taken to a replay by Sheffield Wednesday. However, in the return fixture, they eased past the Owls 4-1 on home turf before battering lowly Maidstone 5-0. And to set up a meeting with Manchester United, the Sky Blues came from behind to beat Premier League side Wolves at Molineux in dramatic fashion as they struck twice in second half stoppage time.
United have had a relatively comfortable run to the semi-finals of the FA Cup, easing past lower league opposition Wigan and Newport. They beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 in February and then, like Coventry, booked their semi-final spot in one of the games of the season as Amad Diallo's goal in stoppage time of second half extra time saw United beat rivals Liverpool 4-3 at Old Trafford.
Team News
Coventry face off against Manchester United without the services of Tatsuhiro Sakamoto and Jamie Allen. Otherwise, Mark Robins has a full strength squad to select from as the Sky Blues look to book a spot in next month's final.
By comparison, Erik ten Hag has a raft of absences to contend with, with no fewer than 10 players missing for Sunday's game. Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans, Willy Kambwala and Raphael Varane are among those absent, so Casemiro should partner Harry Maguire at the back. Antony and Scott McTominay will be assessed.
Probable XIs
Coventry (4312) - Collins; Van Ewijk, Thomas, Kitching, Bidwell; Torp, Eccles, Sheaf; O'Hare; Wright, Simms
Man Utd (4231) - Onana; Dalot, Casemiro, Maguire, Wan-Bissaka; McTominay, Mainoo; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund
As is well known, Manchester United are more than willing to give up chances to opponents. Indeed, only Luton (576) have conceded more shots than United (574) in the Premier League this season. In addition, they have conceded 20 or more shots in their last seven matches, which doesn't bode well when they take on Championship outfit Coventry.
Mark Robins' side managed at least 20 shots in their last two FA Cup games. As such, SkyBet have boosted their price for Coventry to have 20 or more shots inside 90 minutes from 13/2 to 9/1.
