Rodrygo the star in Real Madrid heavy Champions League best XI

Real Madrid tore Galatasaray to shreds on home turf on Wednesday night, romping to a 6-0 win, while Barcelona, PSG, Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham all feature in the WhoScored.com Champions League team of the week.

Goalkeeper: Keylor Navas (PSG) - 8.67 rating

PSG may have laboured to a 1-0 win over Club Brugge, but they had Keylor Navas to thank for the victory that took them into the next round of the Champions League. Mauro Icardi's first half goal was the difference, yet the Costa Rican ensured all the spoils for the Parisian giants with a second half penalty stop to deny Mbaye Diagne, that one of three saves, to return a WhoScored rating of 8.67 in a man of the match display.

Right-back: Achraf Hakimi (Borussia Dortmund) - 8.31 rating

Football INDEX Buy Price - £2.52

Borussia Dortmund came from two goals down to beat Inter 3-2 in Germany on Tuesday night with Achraf Hakimi playing a starring role in the turnaround. Indeed, the Moroccan netted his first of the night early in the second half before adding his second and Dortmund's third a little over 10 minutes from time. His goals came from four shots, while three key passes and one tackle helped the 21-year-old gain a WhoScored rating of 8.31.

Centre-back: Gabriel Paulista (Valencia) - 8.03 rating

Football INDEX Buy Price - £0.25

Valencia had to come from behind to overcome Lille on Tuesday night, but did so in impressive fashion, eventually running out 4-1 winners. Gabriel Paulista had a key role to play at the heart of the Valencia defence to ensure all three points for Los Che as he won all eight aerial duels he contested. Five interceptions, two tackles and two clearances meant the Brazilian was good value for his inclusion in this XI with a WhoScored rating of 8.03.

Centre-back: Gerard Pique (Barcelona) - 7.91 rating

Football INDEX Buy Price - £0.52

It's an all LaLiga centre-back pairing in the Champions League best XI as Gerard Pique partners Gabriel in defence with a WhoScored rating of 7.91. Barcelona may have fluffed their lines in front of goal as they were held to a 0-0 draw with Slavia Prague, but Pique ensured a clean sheet for the Blaugrana as he won six of seven aerial duels contested in the stalemate at Camp Nou. Eight clearances and three interceptions helped keep the Slavia Prague attack at bay as Barcelona earned a positive result.

Left-back: Marcelo (Real Madrid) - 7.91 rating

Football INDEX Buy Price - £0.56

Rounding off the defence is the first of four Real Madrid players following their 6-0 dismantling of Galatasaray. Marcelo may have only played 42 minutes in the resounding victory, but in that time he provided two assists, both for compatriot Rodrygo; no player registered more in the Champions League this week. Those came from two key passes while one successful dribble earned the Brazilian his spot in the team of the week with a WhoScored rating of 7.91.

Right midfield: Rodrygo (Real Madrid) - 10.0 rating

Football INDEX Buy Price - £3.89

Our Champions League player of the week, Rodrygo became the second youngest player to ever score a Champions League hat-trick, with Real Madrid hero Raul still holding that record. Impressively, the 18-year-old's trio of goals came from just three shots, while Rodrygo also helped himself to an assist for Karim Benzema on the stroke of half time, that coming from one of two key passes, to return a WhoScored 10 rating.

Central midfield: Toni Kroos (Real Madrid) - 8.30 rating

Football INDEX Buy Price - £4.14

Toni Kroos may have failed to have a direct hand in Real Madrid's mauling of Galatasaray, yet it wasn't for want of trying as the German midfielder managed two shots and two key passes. As is to be expected, the 29-year-old controlled proceedings in the middle of the park, as he found a teammate with 89 of 97 passes and worked hard off the ball to make two tackles and yield a WhoScored rating of 8.30.

Central midfield: Diego Demme (RB Leipzig) - 8.27 rating

Football INDEX Buy Price - £0.36

RB Leipzig followed up their 8-0 thrashing of Mainz 05 with a professional 2-0 win at Zenit St. Petersburg, with Diego Demme putting in a man of the match performance for the German outfit. Indeed, the 27-year-old bagged his first goal of the season in the victory, that coming from one of two shots, while four aerial duels won, two tackles and one interception capped a fine all-round midfield display from Demme to earn a WhoScored rating of 8.27.

Left midfield: Son Heung-Min (Tottenham) - 8.97 rating

Football INDEX Buy Price - £1.94

The spotlight was on Son Heung-Min after his role in Andre Gomes' unintentional ankle fracture dislocation at Everton last weekend, but the South Korean played a vital role in Tottenham's 4-0 win over FK Crvena Zvezda. Son scored two second half goals, but could have opened his account on the night in the first half as a he hit the woodwork in a goalmouth scramble that eventually culminated in Giovani Lo Celso's first Spurs goal. With three successful dribbles, too, the 27-year-old completes the midfield in this XI with a WhoScored rating of 8.97.

What's more, Benzema helped himself to an assist, teeing up Rodrygo for his hat-trick goal in injury time, to feature.

Striker: Moraes (Shakhtar Donetsk) - 8.79 rating

Football INDEX Buy Price - N/A

In a Champions League gameweek packed full of goals, Shakhtar Donetsk played out a 3-3 draw with Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday night with experienced forward Moraes having a direct hand in two of the three goals the Ukrainian powerhouse side bagged in Croatia. The 32-year-old hit the back of the net with one of his four shots and his sole key pass resulted in an assist. All in all, Moraes did enough to garner a WhoScored rating of 8.79.
