Chelsea starlet Pulisic earns perfect WhoScored 10 rating in U21 best XI

 

Here we run through the best WhoScored rated XI from the weekend's action in Europe's top five leagues made up of players aged 21 and under.

 

Goalkeeper: Aaron Ramsdale (Bournemouth) - 7.46 rating

 

Bournemouth were held to a 0-0 draw by Watford on Saturday and it was the two goalkeepers that took all the plaudits. Watford's Ben Foster was the WhoScored Man of the Match and Ramsdale wasn't far behind. The 21-year-old made three saves, successfully claimed one cross and made two clearances.

 

Right-back: Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Manchester United) - 7.90 rating

 

Manchester United couldn't prevent Norwich from scoring in the end but it was another highly impressive defensive showing from summer signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The 21-year-old completed 11 tackles against Norwich, equalling the record in a Premier League game this season.

 

Centre-back: Mohammed Salisu (Real Valladolid) - 8.44 rating

 

Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu makes his first ever appearance in one of our best rated U21 XIs after helping the LaLiga outfit to a 2-0 win at home to Eibar. The 20-year-old was the WhoScored Man of the Match after netting his first goal for the club. Salisu made 13 clearances and four interceptions to help Valladolid keep a clean sheet.

 

Centre-back: Gabriel (Lille) - 7.69 rating

 

Lille's five-match winless streak came to an end at the weekend after comprehensively beating Bordeaux 3-0 at home. Gabriel helped Lille to a first clean sheet in over a month with six tackles and interceptions combined and two clearances. The 21-year-old also helped alleviate pressure on Lille's goal by winning four free-kicks.

 

Left-back: Pervis Estupinan (Osasuna) - 8.20 rating

 

Osasuna are now unbeaten in their last 24 home matches in all competitions after impressively defeating Valencia 3-1. Left-back Pervis Estupinan secured all three points with 10 minutes of normal time returning, netting his first goal of the campaign in the process. In addition to scoring, the 21-year-old impressively completed 91.5% of his passes and won five tackles and interceptions combined, as well as two clearances.

 

Right wing: Daniel James (Manchester United) - 7.77 rating

 

Daniel James is the second of three Manchester United youngsters in our best rated XI. The Wales international set up Marcus Rashford for his goal with a perfectly werighted long ball and also won one of the penalites United were awarded. The United speedstar registered two key passes in total, completed one dribble and drew one foul.

Central midfield: Martin Odegaard (Real Sociedad) - 7.79 rating

 

Martin Odegaard played another decisive role for Real Sociedad at the weekend, registering an assist in the only goal of the game as they won 1-0 away to Celta Vigo. The 20-year-old was the WhoScored Man of the Match for the third time this season to strengthen suggestions he has been one of the best players in LaLiga this term. Against Celta, Odegaard also had one shot, completed two dribbles and won three fouls.

 

Central midfield: Sandro Tonali (Brescia) - 7.87 rating

 

Brescia eventually collapsed to a 3-1 defeat against Genoa at the weekend but it was another eye-catching afternoon for rising midfielder Sandro Tonali. The 19-year-old gave Brescia the lead in the first-half with a wonderful free-kick from a tight angle. He had three shots, completed four dribbles and won three fouls to earn his best WhoScored rating in league game this season.

 

Left wing: Christian Pulisic (Chelsea) - 10.0 rating

 

Christian Pulisic put a disappointing start to the season behind him with a perfect hat-trick in Chelsea's 4-2 win over Burnley on Saturday. The United States international brought up his first career hat-trick from five shots, while also creating three goalscoring chances for his team-mates.

 

Striker: Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) - 8.63 rating

 

Marcus Rashford played a direct hand in two of the three goals Manchester United scored against Norwich on Sunday, though missed the chance for his second after being denied from the spot by an inspired Tim Krul. The 21-year-old showed great composure and skill to put away Daniel James' long ball and then demonstrated great awareness to back heel into the path of Anthony Martial for his goal. Rashford had six shots in total against Norwich and also completed three dribbles.

 

Striker: Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint-Germain) - 9.13 rating

 

Kylian Mbappe's remarkable goalscoring form continued in Sunday's 4-0 win over Marseille with a two-goal salvo. The 20-year-old has now scored six goals in his last three outings for Paris Saint-Germain and has won back-to-back WhoScored Man of the Match awards. As well as netting a brace, Mbappe registered two key passes and completed two dribbles to finish as the second highest WhoScored rated player aged 21 and under in Europe's top five leagues over the weekend.
