Andy Carroll could return for West Ham this season

West Ham are hopeful that Andy Carroll will return to full fitness to play a part in the club’s final matches of the season, reports The Daily Mirror.

Carroll has been sidelined since the end of January after fracturing his ankle and was initially ruled out for the remainder of the season.

The injury came at the worst possible time for the 29-year-old as Chelsea were seriously interested in prising him away from the London Stadium.

Antonio Conte’s side instead wrapped up a deadline day deal for Olivier Giroud leaving Carroll to focus on getting fit as quickly as possible.

West Ham are currently four points clear of the bottom three with 11 league matches remaining and Moyes is hoping Carroll will return for their last two games of the season.

Carroll has only scored two goals in 12 league appearances this season.

Of players that have started at least five Premier League matches this season, only three win aerial duels more frequently than the West Ham No.9 (1 every 9.6 minutes of action).
