Juventus new favourites to sign Manchester United target

Nemanja Matic has been left out of Chelsea’s pre-season tour of Asia and Juventus are now favourites to land the Manchester United target, reports The Guardian.

The Serbia international has been given permission to skip Chelsea’s upcoming tour of China and Singapore in a bid to force through a move away from the club.

Antonio Conte’s side have been unsuccessful in convincing Matic to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge and Tiemoue Bakayoko’s impending arrival from Monaco will all but seal his fate away from the club.

United were expected to sign the 28-year-old but that deal now looks to be off the cards after Jose Mourinho’s side hi-jacked Chelsea’s deal for Romelu Lukaku earlier this month.

The Premier League champions have been in regular talks with Juventus all summer as they look to sign Alex Sandro from the Italian club and they now expect Matic to be part of the open dialogue with Max Allegri’s side.

In the last three Premier League campaigns only four central midfielders have been dribbled past more times than Matic (140).
