Hatem Ben Arfa only managed to fulfil his potential in patches during his five-year Premier League the stint. Unfortunately, the France international spent much of his time in England either injured or allegedly overweight.

However, the 28-year-old has hit the ground running since returning to France over the summer.  The former Newcastle forward became Ligue 1’s joint top scorer over the weekend as he took his goal tally to seven with a solitary strike in Nice’s 4-1 win over Rennes.

Ben Arfa also registered an assist on his way to garnering a WhoScored rating of 9.6. The Frenchman completed as many dribbles as the entire Rennes starting XI (5) and also made at least one more key pass than any other player on display at the Roazhon Park (3).
