Ederson wants immediate Manchester City return

Ederson wants to start in goal for Manchester City against Feyenoord despite suffering a gruesome facial injury at the weekend, reports The Daily Telegraph.

The 24-year-old was stretchered off against Liverpool after a nasty collision with Sadio Mane and the City No.1 has since revealed the facial injuries he sustained from the clash.

City open their account in the Champions League group stages away to Feyenoord on Wednesday and Ederson is keen to play despite the fact Pep Guardiola initially thought the Brazilian would be sidelined for about two weeks.

Claudio Bravo is ready to deputise in Ederson’s absence but Guardiola will wait on a final assessment from the club’s medical staff before making a decision on who starts in goal.
