Torino striving to tie key man down to a new deal

Torino are hoping to ward off interest in key striker Andrea Belotti by offering the Italy international a new deal to remain in Turin, reports the Mail on Sunda via Tuttosport.

The Italy international was one of the most sought after strikers on the continent last summer, with Manchester United, Chelsea, PSG and AC Milan all credited with an interest in the forward.

However, Torino successfully fought off suitors for his signature and are the beneficiaries with Belotti netting three goals from seven league starts this season.

Belotti only penned a new deal last December to keep him at the club until 2021, but the club are looking to reward him with an improved contract in a bid to ward off potential suitors.

The length of the deal wouldn’t be extended, yet would still contain a £89m release clause that teams would need to trigger to convince Torino into selling.

Torino travel to Crotone today, but do so without their talismanic 23-year-old striker, who is sidelined for the foreseeable future due to injury.
