Leandro Bacuna has signed a new five-year deal at Aston Villa, the club has announced.
Bacuna, who is 24 tomorrow, joined Villa in 2013 and had entered the final year of his contract.
“I am absolutely thrilled to sign a new contract and continue my time at Aston Vill," he told Villa's official website.
“I love it here and am really excited about my future in claret and blue under the manager.
“I feel I can really develop here and show my worth to the team and I think there are bright times ahead for us all.”
The former Netherland’s U21 defender has proved to be a useful specialist from dead ball situations. In fact, of players to have made more than 10 Premier League appearances, only Cesc Fabregas (160.3 mins) and Angel di Maria (164.2 mins) required fewer mins per assist than Bacuna (196.2 mins).
